Description
For Sale, 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sedanca De-Ville DHC
Chassis No: 156SK
Brief history:
In 1990 156SK was purchased by a Mr T Lee as a restoration project. The car was complete and with matching numbers.
Mr T Lee commissioned Ristes to carry out a full restoration completing the mechanical stages in 1992 where the car went to the Steve Penny Coachworks who really is a master of his trade. The Sedanca De-Ville drophead body was built with design tweaks to fulfil his desire to have a grand touring drophead car. The full restoration took almost 5 years to complete. Considerable effort and expense was taken to create a vehicle worthy of the Rolls-Royce name and the number of awards and accolades given to this car since the restoration has confirmed this.
156SK has attended various events,
Aug 1995 – VJ Day 50th Anniversary. Lead the parade down The Mall past HM the Queen
June 1995 – VE Day 50th Anniversary. Carried the surviving Victoria Cross holders around Earls Court arena before HM the Queen
June 1997- Rally to Ardeeche France
June 1998 – Rally to Norway, Sweden and Artic Circle
Sept 1998 – Promotional tour of the Italian Lakes
1999 Rally to Monte Carlo and won Concours d’elegance
June 2000 – German to Berlin Rally.
The Phantom is finished in Dawn Blue with a beautiful Chrome strip down the side accenting the cars striking coachline. The interior is Grey leather throughout with art deco type motifs to the door panels. Grey carpets and finished with the spectacular burr walnut finished in a light tone and edged with satinwood banding.
The Phantom is fitted overdrive with a long axle ratio making this a perfect grand tourer with the wind in your hair.
In 2017 Fiennes were commissioned to carry out a complete engine rebuild and this was with no expense spared. A new grey mohair hood was also fitted around this time.
In 2019 156SK was entered into the RR enthusiast Concours event and then later went onto the Swiss tour with complete trouble free motoring.
