1930 Rolls-Royce 20/25 Sports Saloon
Chassis Number GWP28
GWP 28 started its life Cabriolet De ville according to the chassis records and the car was rebodied in a period Southern Coachwork creation. Originally owned by novelist Sir Max Pemberton who was well known for the (The Life of Sir Henry Royce).
Sir Pemberton purchased GWP 28 in his late 60s and the car was re-odiedby Southern Coachworks who specialised in updating the apperance of older bodied Royces.
Finished in two tone Red and Cream, the bodywork is in reasonable condition for it's age.
The structure does seam to be in a sound condition with no excessive movement in the wooden frame.
The seats have been retrimmed in cream vinyl with red piping and is in very good condition and finished with new red carpets.
The engine and runing gear perform well with the overdrive performing as it should,backed up with a small number of invoices for works carried out over the years. Recent works in 2017 were carried out by Priory and Vintage who is a well known restorer in the RR and B specialist network.
The history file is present with the chassis records, previous mot certificates and a small number of invoices.
There is nothing in the file to suggest that the car has undergone any major restoration but certainly presents a very goood value entry into the very exquisit Rolls-Royce enthusiasts world.
