US6257 has been cherished by only 5 previous keepers and nearly 50 years in the hands of a former keeper between 1969 - 2009. Within the history file, a document details the previous owner along with a reference that US6257 was the first production Abbott 4 seater tourer which was believed to have been Burton & Tweedy's demonstrator.
In 2000 - 2002 an extensive restoration took place by JG & J Henderson from Co Durham where the body was fully restored with new wiring, brakes and a new tan leather interior. The engine was fully rebuilt between 2013 -2014 by VBE Restorations with invoices totalling £42k
The near perfect exterior coachworks is finished in Emerald Green to the original Abbott 4 Seater design complemented with the Tan leather interior and carpets to match.
The history file is very comprehensive with black and white photos of early ownership, registration book from the 60's, photographic record of the bare metal restoration, letters from previous owners who have followed the car with interest plus much more.
